Good Bye and Good Riddance Mr Musk!

Twitter and X Logos
Professor Joe Goldblatt
When a former billionaire, now trillionaire and the world’s richest man purchased Twitter I wondered if the old saying “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely” would apply to this mercurial man.
In short time, the all powerful owner demanded allegiance from his employees, fired thousands of his workers and changed the name of his platform from Twitter to X.
Later he made sick comments with another mysogonyst media personality about the current Vice President of the United States suggesting that her importance was so miniscule that no assassin would try and end her life. That was the moment I knew I would be joining the other 30 million people who have departed Twitter in 2024.
In recent days Musk has started giving away millions of US dollars to voters to influence them to support his candidate for President.
This all powerful person may indeed have power over his employees and those who depend upon his wealth for their happiness. I am very grateful that I am not one of them.
Therefore, today I deleted my Twitter account and shall not return until a new owner is in place whose values I respect and support.
During my many years as a member of the Twitterverse I have enjoyed the public debate, the banter, and occasionally even winced and then smiled when I deleted a follower whose angry and often false claims caused me and others psychic harm.
However, as a famous comedian once said, always leave them wanting more and always leave them laughing.
Therefore, I am leaving the door open to return one day and in the meantime you shall find me at www.joegoldblatt.scot or on LinkedIn.
And now for a laugh, just imagine me confidently and happily driving away in one of Musk’s autonomous Tesla vehicles and as I put the top down to breathe fresher air I push the ejector button and fly into the heavens where I am surrounded by many better angels.

Love reading this Joe. Monday and Tuesday here will be the longest days I can remember.
President Kamala Harris has the perfect sound ever.
Nancy and I are listening to recordings of Shakespeare every night in place of the news. This reminds us that all of this has happened before and we survived.
Hi Joe,
I left X months ago. I did not like his attitude toward women or his treatment of his employees.
I have been working for Kamala, canvassing, writing postcards, and donating to her campaign fund. Tomorrow is election day, and I will work two shifts for the Democrats outside my local polling place. I hope she wins.
One big factor for me is my granddaughter, my daughter’s daughter-in-law and I have had miscarriages. In medical terms, it was a spontaneous abortion. I know how devastating this occurrence can be for a woman. I don’t think we should be denied treatment or prosecuted for what God, the universe, or whatever higher power you believe in has caused to happen. Women in this situation deserve compassion and support, not punishment.
God bless you Phyllis. Women do indeed deserve better.
