Is and Was
Poem Number One (Inspired by Wikipedia’s convention of upon death immediately changing a person’s biographical listing from is to was.)
Part One
He died
She died
Is became was
I cried.
Between is and was
A brief pause
Joy and strife
A life.
Life to death
Final breath.
Part Two
He lived
She lived
Life until death
One long breath.
Time flies
Someone dies
We mourn
Life re – born.
New life
No strife
New place
No trace.
New birth
New earth
Love
Then shove.
Part Three
Life begins
Someone wins
A kiss between
Was and is.
Clear eyes
Blue skies
Because
Life was.
Forward now
Learning how
From a kiss
Was became is.
I loved it Joe! It was short, direct to the point but, oh so meaningful!!!

Many thanks.
Thanks so much!
Simple yet powerful, Joe. Emotion-packed in its brevity and it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you friend.
